Texas Bay Area Polio Survivors Meeting Minutes, November 4, 2006

Hello once again, Polio Survivors!

Our monthly meeting was held this past Saturday, with about 12 folks attending.  Our speaker was unable to make the meeting, so we hope to be able to re-schedule him at a later time.  But, that didn’t stop the conversation about mobile medical devices and transportation issues.  With so many companies offering services for scooters, wheelchairs, etc., sometimes it’s a difficult choice to make.  Several of our members have had excellent results with two companies, Mobile Medical and Adaptive Driving Access, Inc.

We also finalized our plans for our Christmas meeting, or party, on Saturday, December 2, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm at the LaPorte Library.  Just for fun, we’re asking everyone to bring the oldest Christmas card they have to let others see – you may want to begin digging for one now!  You’ll be bringing your card home with you, so don’t worry!

Also planned is a gift exchange (Chinese style – stealing allowed!).  Please bring a gift of about a $15. value that is appropriate for male or female – perhaps something you wouldn’t mind having in your own home.  Don’t label the gift, just bring it wrapped, and we’ll draw numbers for each gift.

Also, we’re having a bake-off.  Everyone is asked to mix up a batch of their favorite holiday treat, and bring it for a taste test.  Then, at the end of the party, we can all take a sampling of each treat home, giving us a variety of goodies ready for the holidays.

Wishing all of you a Bountiful Thanksgiving with friends and family,

Carol
