Hello Survivor’s,
Well, another first Saturday of the month has come and gone. I know a lot of polio survivors still work or are struggling with post-polio illness
that keep us from getting around as much as we would like. So if you missed this meeting,
we had good time and we missed you.
Besides our regulars we had two new faces this month, one Janice Orrell, who got polio
at the age of 13 months. Howard Hester, he got polio in 1952 at the age of 5. To show that
some things are just meant to be, I met Howard at Lowe’s Hardware Store just two day before
our meeting, in our conversation he told me he had had polio, I said me too, and that’s all it
takes to have a new member and friend. I love it when you can meet such nice fellow survivors.
We look forward to seeing them at all future meetings. To learn more about them and other members
you will need to check out this website in the future.
This meeting we had some business to work on, one of our members Mark Hayes, computer wiz extraordinaire
has offered to set our support group up with a website of our own. So the last hour was spent discussing
and voting on things like the lay out, color scheme, basically what we would like to see on it.
At the end I think we all agreed we want something, informative, easy to follow, something for the whole
support group and last but not least FUN.
At the close of the meeting, door prizes went to our two new-comers Janice and Howard.
Do me a favor, right now go mark your calendars, our next meeting will be March the 4th .,
you might have missed the last one, but don’t miss the next.
See you there
John Hartman Co-Leader
